Whilst Rochdale mens 2s were away at Urmston, Rochdale ladies took on Urmston ladies at Oulder Hill on Saturday. In a hard fought game with some decisions which didn’t help Rochdales cause the ladies once again came away without a point.

The whole team gave 100% and battled on with some great link up play between Roisin Pickering and Paula McDonald in midfield, but that first win is still proving hard to find for the newly promoted team. Rochdale keeper Sam Partington battled as hard as anyone in the first half making many great saves but the ladies still went in 2-0 down.

The second half saw much of the same, but as the clock ticked on and with only a bare 11, legs began to tire and Urmston took advantage, running out 5-0 winners in the end.

Captain Kie Leech “The result doesn’t reflect the effort these girls put in, not just today, but every match and every training session. Players like Becky Moon, who never gave up and fought on until the last minute, summed up our team ethos.”

The player of the match went to Paula McDonald.
